AI engineering · Enterprise software · Cloud platforms

AI engineered into the daily work of your organisation.

We design, build and operate AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for organisations in Malaysia and Europe, linked to the systems they already depend on.

  • 2,400+ people
  • 600+ government projects in EU Member States
  • ISO/IEC 27001 certified
Nine parts joined into one system.

Nine nodes in a three by three grid, joined by one path that forms the FromNine logo: it runs from business context through intelligence, software, cloud and operations to a single system in production.

  1. 01Business context: Aims, processes and limits
  2. 02–03Intelligence: Data and models, measured
  3. 04–05Software: Applications and their links
  4. 06Cloud: Platforms and hosting
  5. 07–08Operations: Automation that people oversee
  6. 09Outcome: A single live system

01 Size and principles

Large enough to deliver, small enough to answer for it.

We concentrate on AI, cloud and modern engineering, with the size and delivery discipline of a large company behind us. That gives us the people to staff a mixed programme, and teams that stay with it from the first design to daily operation.

2,400+people who design, build and operate systems for public authorities and companies.

600+government projects for public authorities in EU Member States, some completed and others still running.

  1. 01

    Designed around what you run

We work with your existing platforms, data and processes, and replace only what has to go.

  2. 02

    Built to be maintained

Tested, documented and handed over, so your own staff can still change it in years to come.

  3. 03

A person decides where it counts

Steps with consequences wait for a person, and every automated action leaves a record you can check.

02 Services

Seven services, answered for by one team.

AI is only as useful as what surrounds it: software people like to use, data it can trust, integrations that hold and a platform that keeps it running. We deliver all of these together, so the system works as one and a single team is answerable for the whole.

Generative AI that keeps working in production: grounded in your own data, measured before go-live and monitored while it runs.

  • Knowledge and retrieval systems that respect access rights and name their sources
  • Evaluation against quality criteria set with your specialists
  • Tracking of quality, cost and response time in production

AI Agents & Automation

AI agents that stay inside the permissions you set and wait for approval before steps with consequences.

  • Orchestration with limited access to tools
  • Approval by an accountable officer and handover to staff
  • A complete, traceable record of each action

Data & Analytics

Well-governed data that decisions and AI can depend on.

  • Pipelines with quality checks and data lineage
  • Access rules aligned with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709)
  • Data prepared for retrieval and analytics

Enterprise Software & SaaS

Portals, internal platforms and SaaS products that remain easy to change.

  • Accessible interfaces built to WCAG 2.2 level AA
  • Modernisation while the business keeps running
  • Automated tests and documentation your staff can work with

Cloud & Platform Engineering

Cloud foundations where releasing is routine and costs are visible.

  • Infrastructure as code and environments you can rebuild
  • Delivery pipelines with quality gates
  • Monitoring, recovery plans and cost reporting

Integrations & APIs

Systems that exchange data dependably, also when a part fails.

  • API design and event-driven integration
  • Mapping, retries and handling of duplicates
  • Links to CRM, ERP and MyInvois

Architecture & Consulting

Technical direction before major commitments: options, trade-offs and a roadmap you can justify to your board.

  • Reviews of your current application landscape
  • Option studies and decision records
  • Roadmaps with guidance for delivery

03 Solutions

From daily friction to a working system.

Begin with a problem, not with a model. Every example follows one route: the friction your staff meet now, the system we would deliver, the gain to measure and the decisions that remain with people.

01

Document intelligence

Illustrative workflowDocument intake flow
Documents arrive, are sorted, have their fields extracted and are checked against your rules.Exceptions go to a person for review; clean cases pass straight into the business system.
Friction today
Staff key in data by hand from forms, letters, attachments and supplier invoices.
System we would deliver
A controlled intake that sorts each document, extracts the fields that matter and checks them against your rules.
Gain in operation
Staff deal with the exceptions, not the routine.
Decision by a person
Every uncertain case goes to a person before anything enters the business system.
Document intelligence
02

Enterprise knowledge

Illustrative workflowKnowledge search that respects access rights
Document stores, wikis and tickets are indexed with their access rights, and content owners decide what goes in.Retrieval checks each user’s rights, the answer cites its sources, and feedback improves it. Index and retrieval stay inside an access boundary.
Friction today
The answer exists somewhere in the organisation, yet finding it takes hours.
System we would deliver
A search and answer assistant that shows each person only what they may see, and names a source for every answer.
Gain in operation
Quicker, consistent answers that anyone can check.
Decision by a person
Each answer links to its source, and content owners choose what is indexed.
Enterprise knowledge
03

Service assistance

Illustrative workflowService assistance flow
Each enquiry is analysed for its purpose and context, and the assistant proposes a reply with relevant knowledge.A staff member edits and sends the reply; sensitive cases go to a specialist, and the CRM record is updated.
Friction today
Service staff switch between several tools while the customer or member of the public waits.
System we would deliver
An assistant that prepares draft replies and brings up context, while your service staff remain in charge.
Gain in operation
More time for the person, less time searching.
Decision by a person
A person sends every reply, and sensitive cases are escalated automatically.
Service assistance
04

Legacy modernisation

Illustrative workflowModernisation in stages
Requests pass through a stable interface set in front of the old system.Functions move to new services one at a time; results are compared side by side, and the team approves before each switch.
Friction today
An ageing system holds critical rules and data, and every change feels like a risk.
System we would deliver
Replacement in stages behind stable interfaces, so parts move to modern software without one big switch.
Gain in operation
Less risk in each change, and a system your staff can keep improving.
Decision by a person
Each stage runs next to the old system until your team approves the switch.
Legacy modernisation

04 Public sector

Designed to be answerable to the public.

600+government projects for public authorities in EU Member States, some completed and others still running.

Public authorities need technology that is accessible, secure, transparent and still useful after the contract that bought it ends. These projects for public authorities in EU Member States taught us to work within procurement rules, more than one language and strict data protection.

We apply the same care to AI: decisions on record, oversight by people, and a design that accounts for the EU AI Act from the first workshop.

  • EU Member States
  • Other European countries
  • Offices
Public sector

Dot map of Europe. The 27 EU Member States are highlighted, the other European countries appear in a lighter tone, and the Antwerp and Ghent offices are marked.

What a public authority can count on

  • Interoperability Open standards and stable interfaces, so a service can link to national platforms such as a MyDigital ID login.
  • Accessibility Public services built and tested to WCAG 2.2 level AA and EN 301 549.
  • Hosting location Agreed with you and recorded in the contract, with no dependence on one vendor.
  • AI governance Risk class, documentation and human oversight, built for the EU AI Act where it applies.
  • Procurement Documentation that answers every requirement of a tender and stands up to audit and handover.

05 Enterprise platforms

AI inside the platforms you already run.

Your customer, finance, supply chain and operations data is already in Salesforce, SAP or Odoo. We implement, extend and integrate these platforms, including e-Invoice links to MyInvois, and connect AI to them with the right permissions, so automation runs inside the processes your staff already follow.

06 Engineering depth

Most of a useful AI feature is dependable software.

The model is one part. Around it sit integrations, permissions, evaluation, approval steps and operations, and they decide whether it still works at nine on a Monday under real load. That is where AI projects succeed or fail without anyone noticing.

A sample architecture, one layer at a time

Illustrative architecture, not a client system
  1. AI helps only as far as it can read from and write to your systems. We design the integrations first: mapping, retries, duplicate handling and errors that staff can see.

  2. The system fetches only what the person asking may see. Access rights are enforced in the retrieval layer and never left to the prompt.

  3. Answers and actions are tested against agreed criteria before and after go-live. Any action with real consequences waits until a person approves it.

  4. Infrastructure as code, staged environments and tracking of quality, response time and cost, so the system can be run, audited and improved once it is live.

Read the diagram as text

The drawing shows six layers. From top to bottom: agents and workflows, with approval by a person before any action with consequences; models and evaluation; data and retrieval; the integration layer; and the business systems that hold the records, such as CRM, ERP, case management and document stores. A cloud platform with monitoring sits beneath them all.

Access control crosses every layer vertically, with identity, roles and audit trail at each step. A request enters at the top and travels down through each layer to the business systems.

Four notes: integrations before prompts (integration layer and business systems); retrieval within access rights (data and retrieval, access control); evaluation and approval steps (models and agents); operated after go-live (cloud platform and monitoring).

Architecture approach

07 Approach

From the first workshop to a live system.

Four stages, each closing with a deliverable you can examine and retain. You see progress at every step, and what we build belongs to you.

  1. 1. Understand

We look at the business problem, the people affected and the systems in place, then agree what to solve first.

    DeliverableAgreed problem statement

    • Map of processes and systems
    • Limits and risks
    • A first use case, agreed with you
  2. 2. Design

We select an architecture, agree how success is measured and plan a first release small enough to go live.

    DeliverableArchitecture and acceptance measures

    • Architecture and decision records
    • Quality and evaluation criteria
    • Plan for the first release
  3. 3. Build

We deliver in short, tested increments that your staff can see, try out and question.

DeliverableSoftware that has passed its tests

    • Running increments
    • Automated tests and evaluation runs
    • Documentation kept up to date
  4. 4. Operate and improve

We hand the system over or operate it, watch it in production and improve it with you.

    DeliverableHandover and plan for operation

    • Runbooks and monitoring
    • Ownership and support arrangements
    • List of next improvements

What operation teaches us shapes the next round of analysis.

08 Trust and governance

Governed, documented, with people in charge.

Responsible AI is engineering work, not a policy on paper. Four layers of control surround the systems we build, with your data and your decisions in the middle.

  • Hosting location and control

We agree the hosting location with you and record it in the contract before we build, including sovereign options where your requirements call for them.

  • Security and ISO/IEC 27001

Our information security management holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Every delivery includes least-privilege access, threat modelling and secure engineering from the design stage.

  • Governance for AI and personal data

Risk class, documentation, audit logs and decision records, designed for the PDPA, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, where it applies, the EU AI Act, so you can show who did what and why.

  • Human oversight

Approval steps, escalation and the power to override, wherever an automated decision has real consequences for people.

09 In Malaysia

FromNine in Malaysia

Malaysian groups that export to the EU, own companies there or supply EU customers face two sets of rules at once. At home, amendments to the PDPA have taken effect in stages since 1 January 2025, the Cyber Security Act 2024 (Act 854) has bound NCII entities since 26 August 2024, and e-Invoice through MyInvois reached its last phase on 1 January 2026. From Europe, the GDPR, the EU AI Act and DORA or NIS2 contract clauses arrive through exports, subsidiaries and customers. We design a single system that meets both.

Colleagues at our Cyberjaya office take part in delivery and development alongside the European teams; the office also handles administration and is our regional office for Malaysia and Southeast Asia. Our teams in Asia work in English, Malay, Chinese and Thai. We hold our first discussion with you in English, and the language of the project is settled when the engagement begins. For Malaysian groups with companies in Europe, our European teams also work in Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

600+ government projects for public authorities in EU Member States, some completed and others still running, taught us to build for accountability. For a public-sector reader in Malaysia, that European experience means services that can accept a MyDigital ID login, interfaces that meet WCAG 2.2 level AA, and documentation that holds up in procurement and audit.

Illustrative scenarios in Malaysia

Illustrative example
  1. One ERP for a Malaysian parent and its EU companies

A Malaysian manufacturer with sales companies in the EU must issue e-Invoices through MyInvois at home and send invoices to EU buyers over Peppol, from finance processes that differ by company.

    What we would deliver
A single ERP template with country settings, linked to the MyInvois API for Malaysia and to a Peppol service provider for EU buyers, so a new company is configuration work, not a new system.
    Decisions that stay with people
The group finance controller approves the template and each country setting before it goes live.
    How results would be tracked
Share of invoices validated at the first attempt, time to bring a new company onto the template, open invoice exceptions per month.
  2. EU AI Act records for a SaaS provider in Malaysia

A Malaysian software company adds an AI feature to a product used by customers in the EU, and those customers ask how it works, what it was tested on and who answers for it.

    What we would deliver
Technical documentation, evaluation results and event logs generated by the delivery pipeline and versioned with each release, alongside a record of the personal data the feature handles under the PDPA.
    Decisions that stay with people
A named product owner approves every release, and logged decisions remain open to review and challenge.
    How results would be tracked
Completeness of documentation per release, time to answer a customer audit question, evaluation results over time.
  3. Incident notification for an NCII entity with EU customers

An organisation with NCII duties under Act 854 must notify incidents within six hours, while its EU customers expect notice in time for their own NIS2 or DORA deadlines.

    What we would deliver
One incident workflow that records the facts once, prepares each notification in the format its recipient needs and tracks every deadline.
    Decisions that stay with people
The security officer reviews and submits each notification; nothing is sent automatically.
    How results would be tracked
Time from detection to first notification, completeness of reports, deadlines met.
