  • 600+ projects for European public administrations
  • ISO/IEC 27001 certified
Nine nodes. A single working system.

A grid of nine nodes, three by three, joined by one line that traces the FromNine mark. The line starts at business requirements and passes models, software, cloud and operations before it ends in a single system in daily use.

01 Capacity and principles

Large enough to staff it, close enough to answer for it.

We concentrate on AI, cloud and current engineering practice, with the bench strength of a large firm behind it. A multidisciplinary programme can be staffed in full, and the people who design your system stay with it through rollout and into daily operation.

2,400+engineers, architects and consultants across AI, software, cloud, data and enterprise platforms.

600+projects for European public administrations, finished or still running, all of them for public bodies in EU Member States.

400+projects for private companies

Government & public sector
  1. 01

Fitted to the systems you run

We work with the ERP, CRM, data platforms and processes already in place, and replace a component only when there is a clear case for it.

  2. 02

    Easy to maintain for years

Every release is tested, documented and handed over, so your own team or your GCC can still change it long after go-live.

  3. 03

    Maker-checker where it counts

Steps with real consequences wait for an authorised person, and each automated action is logged for later review by audit or compliance.

02 Services

Seven services, answered for by one team.

An AI feature is only as dependable as what surrounds it: software people choose to use, data that can be trusted, integrations that do not break and a platform that stays up. We take responsibility for all of these together, so the system behaves as one and a single team is accountable for it.

Generative AI for production use: answers drawn from your own documents, tested before release and monitored once live, with the India AI Governance Guidelines and the EU AI Act in view.

  • Search and answer systems that follow user permissions and show their sources
  • Testing against quality thresholds set with your domain experts
  • Production tracking of answer quality, cost and response time

AI Agents & Automation

Agents that work inside the permissions you set, with maker-checker approval before any step that matters.

  • Orchestration with a limited, listed set of tools
  • Approval by an authorised officer and handover to staff
  • A complete log of each action, kept for audit

Data & Analytics

Trusted, governed data for reporting and AI, with DPDP purpose limits built in.

  • Data pipelines with lineage and quality rules
  • Access rules mapped to the DPDP Act and the GDPR
  • Data prepared for search, reporting and AI

Enterprise Software & SaaS

Customer portals, internal tools and SaaS products that remain simple to change.

  • Interfaces built to WCAG 2.2 AA and IS 17802
  • Modernisation while operations continue
  • Automated tests and usable documentation for your team

Cloud & Platform Engineering

Cloud foundations with routine releases, clear costs and logs kept as CERT-In directs.

  • Environments defined in code and rebuilt on demand
  • Release pipelines that stop on failed checks
  • Monitoring, recovery plans and cost reporting

Integrations & APIs

Reliable data exchange between systems, from the ERP to the GST Invoice Registration Portal.

03 Solutions

From a daily bottleneck to a working system.

Begin with the business problem, not the model. Each illustration below follows one structure: today’s bottleneck, the system we could build, the gain worth measuring and the point where an authorised person decides.

01

Document intelligence

Workflow, for illustrationFlow for incoming documents
Incoming documents are received, sorted by type, their fields read and then checked against your rules.Exceptions are routed to a person for review; clean documents pass directly into the business system.
Today’s bottleneck
Staff re-key data from GST invoices, KYC files and scanned letters into the ERP or the loan system.
System we could build
An intake flow that sorts each document, reads the fields that matter and checks them against your business rules, including the IRN on e-invoices.
Gain to measure
Your staff deal with exceptions, not with routine data entry.
Where a person decides
Any doubtful case reaches an officer before data enters the business system.
View document intelligence
02

Enterprise knowledge

Workflow, for illustrationKnowledge search with access rights
Policies, circulars, SOPs and tickets are indexed along with their access rights; document owners set the scope.Retrieval follows each user’s access rights and returns an answer with sources, and user feedback improves it. Index and retrieval stay inside a defined access boundary.
Today’s bottleneck
The answer sits in a circular, an SOP or an old email thread, and finding it takes half a day.
System we could build
An assistant for questions over your documents that shows each user only what their role permits, and cites the source behind every answer.
Gain to measure
Quicker answers that are consistent and can be checked.
Where a person decides
Each answer links back to its source; document owners choose what is included.
View enterprise knowledge
03

Service assistance

Workflow, for illustrationWorkflow for service requests
Each request is read for its purpose and context; the assistant proposes a reply and the relevant policy text. The staff member edits and sends the reply, sensitive matters go to a specialist, and the case is logged in the CRM.
Today’s bottleneck
Customer service staff switch between several screens while the policyholder or citizen waits on the line.
System we could build
An assistant that prepares a draft reply and pulls up the case history; your service staff remain in charge.
Gain to measure
More attention for the customer, less time spent searching.
Where a person decides
A staff member approves every reply, and sensitive matters move to a senior colleague on their own.

04

Legacy modernisation

Workflow, for illustrationModule-by-module replacement
All requests go through a stable interface placed in front of the old core system.Functions move one at a time to new services; outputs are compared side by side, and your team approves before each switch.
Today’s bottleneck
An ageing core system holds business rules nobody fully remembers, so every change feels like a gamble.
System we could build
Replacement module by module behind stable interfaces, so functions move to new software without a single cut-over weekend.
Gain to measure
Less risk with each change, and a system your team can keep developing.
Where a person decides
Each module runs alongside the old system until your team approves the switch.

04 Government and public sector

Accountability learned in European public work.

600+projects for European public administrations, finished or still running, in EU Member States.

Public administrations expect systems that are accessible, secure, explainable and maintained well beyond one contract. Our European public work taught us to deliver inside procurement rules, several official languages and strict data protection law.

For Central Government ministries, State departments and PSUs that build on Aadhaar-based authentication, DigiLocker or API Setu, the same habits carry over: recorded decisions, an officer who approves, and AI designed with the India AI Governance Guidelines in view.

Government & public sector

A dot map of Europe: the 27 EU Member States in full colour, the rest of the continent in a paler shade, with markers for Antwerp and Ghent.

What a public body can expect from us

  • Interoperability Open standards and documented APIs, so a service can connect to national platforms such as API Setu and DigiLocker.
  • Accessibility Interfaces built and tested to WCAG 2.1 level AA as GIGW 3.0 requires, and to IS 17802.
  • Data location Where data is stored is agreed with you and written into the contract, with no lock-in to one vendor.
  • Responsible AI Risk review, documentation and officer approval, in line with the India AI Governance Guidelines and, for EU-facing services, the EU AI Act.
  • Procurement Bid documents answered clause by clause, the discipline that GeM and CPPP procurement rewards and that we apply for European public buyers.

05 Enterprise platforms

AI inside the platforms you already run.

For many Indian enterprises and business groups, customer, finance and supply chain records sit in Salesforce, SAP or Odoo. We implement, extend and integrate these platforms, then connect AI to them with proper access rights, so automation runs inside the processes your teams already follow.

06 Engineering detail

Most of a good AI feature is dependable software.

The model is a single component. The integrations, access rights, testing, maker-checker steps and operations around it decide whether it still works at month-end close, under real volumes. That is where AI programmes succeed or slowly lose the trust of their users.

A sample architecture, one layer at a time

For illustration only; not a client system
  1. AI is worth only what it can read from and write to. We design the integrations first: field mapping, retries, duplicate protection and errors your staff can see.

  2. The system returns only what the person asking is entitled to see. Access rights are applied in the retrieval layer itself rather than through instructions in a prompt.

  3. Answers and actions are measured against agreed thresholds before and after each release. Any action with real consequences waits for an authorised person, as in a maker-checker control.

  4. Infrastructure in code, separate test and production stages, and monitoring of quality, response time and cost, so the system can be operated, audited and improved after go-live.

Read the diagram as text

Six layers are shown. From the top: agents and the workflow engine, with a checker approval step before any action with consequences; models and testing; data and search; the integration layer; and the business systems that hold the records, such as CRM, ERP, case management and document repositories. A cloud platform with monitoring sits beneath all of them.

Access control spans every layer vertically, so identity, roles and an audit trail apply at each step. A request starts at the top and travels down through each layer to the business systems.

Four notes: integrations before prompts (integration layer and business systems); search that follows access rights (data and search, access control); testing and checker steps (models and agents); run, not just deployed (cloud platform and monitoring).

Our architecture method

07 Delivery model

From the first meeting to a system in daily use.

Four stages, and each closes with a deliverable you can review and retain. Progress is visible throughout, and what we build belongs to you.

  1. 1. Understand

We study the business problem, the stakeholders and the systems in place, then agree which requirement to address first.

    DeliverableProblem statement

    • Map of processes and systems
    • Constraints and risks, listed
    • One agreed first use case
  2. 2. Design

We select an architecture, fix the success measures and plan a first release small enough to go live quickly.

    DeliverableArchitecture and agreed measures

    • Architecture and decision log
    • Quality and test criteria
    • Plan for the first release
  3. 3. Build

We deliver in short, tested increments that your users can see, try and question.

    DeliverableTested, working software

    • Increments that work
    • Automated tests and AI test runs
    • Documentation kept current
  4. 4. Run and improve

We hand the system over or operate it ourselves, monitor it in production and keep improving it with you.

    DeliverableOperating plan and handover

    • Monitoring and runbooks
    • Support model and owners
    • Backlog of improvements

Lessons from daily operation shape the next round of work.

08 Trust and data protection

Governed, documented and approved by people you name.

Responsible AI is engineering work, not a policy on paper. Four layers of control surround every system we build, with your data and your decisions in the middle.

  • Data location, in the contract

Where your data is stored and processed is agreed before we build and written into the contract, so it can be checked against the DPDP Act, any stricter sectoral rule and, for your European entities, the GDPR.

  • ISO/IEC 27001 and secure delivery

Our information security management system holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification. Least-privilege access, threat modelling and secure coding are standard from the design stage, and incident processes can be set up for CERT-In’s six-hour reporting.

  • AI governance you can show

Risk review, documentation, audit logs and decision records, designed with the India AI Governance Guidelines, the DPDP Act and, where your AI reaches the EU, the EU AI Act in view, so you can show who decided what and why.

  • Maker-checker for AI

Approval steps, escalation and the power to override wherever an automated decision has real consequences for customers, citizens or staff.

Your data, your decisions

09 For India

FromNine for organisations in India

FromNine has no office in India. The people who would work with you are based in Antwerp, Ghent and Amsterdam. We hold the first conversation in English and agree the working language of the project at the start. For your companies in Europe, our teams also work in Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian.

The agenda for Indian organisations is set by dates. The DPDP Rules phase in from November 2025, with Consent Manager registration from November 2026 and the Data Fiduciary duties from May 2027. CERT-In’s six-hour incident reporting has applied since 2022, GST e-invoicing runs through the IRP, and EU rules such as the EU AI Act and the GDPR reach Indian firms that serve customers in the Union.

Our public-sector experience is European: 600+ projects for European public administrations, completed and continuing, for public bodies in EU Member States. For an Indian public-sector reader it stands for habits rather than references: audit trails, accessibility to GIGW 3.0, documentation that answers each clause of a bid document, and services designed around Aadhaar-based authentication and DigiLocker where a department uses them.

Illustrations for India

Illustrative example
  1. DPDP notices and consent records before May 2027

A general insurer collects personal data through its website, its app and its agents, and must give itemised notices and keep consent records once the Data Fiduciary duties apply from May 2027.

What we would put in place
A notice and consent service that holds the notice text for each purpose, records every consent and withdrawal, and passes the same records to the CRM and the policy administration system.
    Where an officer decides
The privacy team approves every notice text and purpose before release, and withdrawals reach the business systems without manual delay.
    How success would be measured
Share of data flows covered by a current notice, time taken to act on a withdrawal, grievances answered within the period the Rules set.
  2. AI output used in the EU, documented from the start

An Indian software company sells an AI feature to European customers, so the output is used in the Union and the EU AI Act can apply under Article 2(1)(c).

What we would put in place
Technical documentation, test records and event logs generated by the release pipeline and versioned with each release, ready for the questions European customers ask.
    Where an officer decides
A named product owner approves each release, and the customer’s compliance team can review and challenge logged decisions.
    How success would be measured
Documentation complete per release, time to answer a customer audit question, test results tracked from release to release.
  3. Six-hour incident reporting to CERT-In

An asset management company has to report listed cyber incidents to CERT-In within six hours of noticing them, while also meeting SEBI’s Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework.

What we would put in place
A single incident workflow that gathers the facts once, prepares the CERT-In report and tracks the clock from the moment the incident is noticed.
    Where an officer decides
The chief information security officer reviews and submits every report; no report leaves without that sign-off.
    How success would be measured
Time from detection to report, completeness of each report, share of reports filed inside six hours.
