Careers
Engineer the systems people rely on each working day.
Work with 2,400+ people on AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for public authorities and companies. Your work meets real users and has real consequences, and your colleagues care about doing it well.
Our people work in Antwerp, Ghent, Amsterdam and Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

Why FromNine
The size of a large company, the care of a workshop
Work that counts from nine in the morning
Case officers, finance staff, engineers and members of the public use our systems throughout their day. You see your work in use.
Room to grow inside one company
2,400+ people and 600+ government projects for public authorities in EU Member States bring demanding problems, multi-year programmes and the chance to move from one to another.
Engineering you can stand behind
Tested code, peer-reviewed changes, decisions on record and careful handovers. We give the less visible parts of engineering the attention they need.
Practices that work together
You join a practice of specialists in your own field, whether AI, software, cloud, data or platforms, and you deliver in teams that combine several practices.

Try new methods at the Ghent hub
The Ghent office is FromNine’s innovation and development centre. Its engineers try new AI and platform methods on realistic problems, build the reusable components and reference architectures that delivery teams use, and make proven methods part of common practice.
If you enjoy taking an idea from first experiment to something an organisation can operate, Ghent offers that path.
- Experiments with a goalEach idea is tried on a realistic case and must meet the quality standard of client work.
- Work used by many teamsDelivery teams throughout the company use the components and methods made in Ghent.
- Open about resultsWhat we learn, failures included, goes to colleagues in all four offices.
Our way of working
Small teams, named owners, real users
You join a mixed team with one clear goal and an organisation you come to know well. The team plans in short cycles, shows running software often and records the decisions that count.
We place people where they are strongest and keep teams stable, so you can follow a system from design into production. Colleagues review your work in detail rather than only approve it.
- Our delivery approachThe four stages each team follows.
Development
Growth that comes from the work itself
Learning in production
Work next to experienced colleagues on live systems, and take on more responsibility when you feel ready.
Change field without changing company
Public sector and companies, AI and platforms, products and programmes: the range of our work lets you change direction while staying with us.
Vendor certification
Our Salesforce, SAP and Odoo practices follow each vendor’s certification tracks, and certification is one way those practices develop.
Pass on what you learn
Internal sessions, written notes and the Ghent hub carry knowledge from team to team and from office to office.

Malaysia
Engineering to Malaysian and EU rules
Many systems we build must satisfy EU law: the EU AI Act for human oversight and documentation, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) wherever personal data about people in the EU is involved, and the European Accessibility Act for interfaces sold to consumers in the EU.
Systems designed for organisations in Malaysia add the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) as amended by Act A1727, with data breach notification to the Personal Data Protection Commissioner, within 72 hours under the Commissioner’s guidance, and for NCII entities the Cyber Security Act 2024 (Act 854). Working with both sets of rules is demanding, and the experience is valued wherever you go next.

Questions from applicants
Where are vacancies published?
On our jobs page. If no vacancy matches your profile, you can still write to us through the contact page.
Is AI experience a requirement?
No. Most of our systems include AI, but they rely just as much on sound software, cloud, data and platform engineering. Curiosity and careful engineering habits count for more than knowledge of one particular tool.
Which office would I work from?
We have offices in Antwerp (administration), Ghent (innovation and development centre), Amsterdam and Cyberjaya, Malaysia. Your place of work, and how much time you spend at the client, is agreed for each role.
In which languages do your teams work?
Our teams in Asia work in English, Malay, Chinese and Thai. With a client, our first discussion is in English, and the language of the project is settled when the engagement begins. Our European teams also work in Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian, and each vacancy states the languages the role needs.
What happens to my application data?
We use your details only to assess your application and keep them no longer than necessary, under the GDPR and, where it applies, the PDPA. The candidate privacy notice linked from each vacancy gives the details.
