About FromNine

2,400+ people who engineer AI, software and cloud that organisations run on.

FromNine is an engineering company for AI, enterprise software and cloud. We design, build and operate AI systems for public authorities and companies, and we hold that work to the standard any critical system needs: tested, documented and answerable for how it behaves in production.

Our people work in Antwerp, Ghent, Amsterdam and Cyberjaya, Malaysia.

The name

Where the name FromNine comes from

A company name should state its purpose. Ours does so in two ways.

The name joins two ideas that matter to us: the working day a system must support, and the full set of parts it must connect.

09:00

From nine in the morning

At nine the working day begins for real. Officers open their case lists, finance staff start their batch jobs, members of the public sign in to submit an application, and engineers look at what ran overnight.

From that hour a system is no longer a project but a service people rely on. That is the hour we design for: not a Friday demonstration, but nine o’clock on a Monday, with real users, real data and real consequences.

3 × 3

Nine nodes on a single path

Our logo is a grid of nine nodes linked by one unbroken path. Each node stands for a part that every organisation must combine: data, models, applications, platforms, integrations, cloud, security, people and operations.

The path is the engineering that links them, one considered turn at a time. It finishes on one highlighted node: a single system, live in production. Trace the path and it forms the figure nine.

From nine: from the first hour of the working day, and from nine separate parts to a single system that stays up when it matters.

Who we are

AI first, on a base of engineering discipline

FromNine designs, builds and operates AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for public authorities and companies. With 2,400+ people we can form mixed teams across AI, software, cloud, data and platforms, and keep the same people on a programme for as long as it runs.

AI first does not mean AI in everything. Each engagement opens with one question: where would AI change how the organisation works? We then build it to the standard of the systems around it: tested, observable, governed and properly handed over.

That discipline comes from public-sector work. In 600+ government projects for public authorities in EU Member States, accessibility, security and accountability were firm requirements. Companies that work with us get the same standard.

How we work

The principles we work by

  1. Built for production

We build AI to run in daily operation, not to impress in a demonstration. Dependable software, data access, security, monitoring and a plan for operation belong to the scope, not to the extras.

  2. Linked to the systems you rely on

AI is useful only when it can reach your systems. We work with the CRM, ERP, data platforms and applications you already have, and integrate them properly rather than replace what works.

  3. Responsibility built in

We settle early where a person approves, where AI may act and how each decision is traced. We design with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Act 709) and, where your business reaches the EU, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the EU AI Act in mind, and we state openly what AI cannot do.

  4. Size with continuity

The capacity of a large company and the stability of a team that has delivered together before. We aim to keep the people who design your system on it through build and handover.

Credentials

Certification and partnerships

What supports the name: a certified information security management system and formal partnerships with the platforms many organisations run.

Information security

ISO/IEC 27001

Our information security management system holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification, the international standard for managing information security. You may request the certificate and its scope during your supplier assessment.

Platform partnerships

Our Salesforce, SAP and Odoo teams work inside each vendor’s partner programme. Each vendor defines its own status labels.

Salesforce, SAP and Odoo are trademarks of their respective owners.

Our offices

Four offices, one way of working

FromNine people work in Antwerp, Ghent, Amsterdam and Cyberjaya. In Europe we sit close to the public authorities and companies we work for, and our teams deliver for organisations throughout Europe.

In Ghent, new ideas are tested before use

The Ghent office is FromNine’s innovation and development centre. There we try new AI and engineering methods on realistic problems before they go into client systems, and development teams build the shared components that delivery teams in every office use.

Innovation in Ghent is practical by design. An idea is adopted only once it passes the same tests, reviews and security requirements as everything else we deliver.

  • ExploreNew methods in AI, agents and platform engineering are tried on realistic cases.
  • ProveEvaluation methods, reference architectures and reusable components are built, tested and documented.
  • ShareWhat succeeds becomes common practice for delivery teams in all offices. What fails is recorded as well.

Trust and compliance

Security, personal data and oversight from the start

Public authorities and regulated companies give us sensitive data and systems that support real decisions. These are the undertakings we work by.

  • Information security

    Certified

Our information security management system is ISO/IEC 27001 certified. Access on a least-privilege basis, secure development and security testing belong to every delivery, not to a last check.

    ISO/IEC 27001 certified

  • Personal data, PDPA and GDPR

    Our practice

We agree purposes, access limits and retention for personal data before we build, in line with the PDPA as amended by Act A1727 and, for EU data, the GDPR. Where we process personal data for you, a written contract sets out our duties as data processor, including security and breach notification.

  • AI governance

    Our practice

We design with the EU AI Act in view where it reaches you, from risk classification to documentation and human oversight. AI agents run with limited permissions, approval steps and complete logs.

We help you see which obligations could apply to your use case and provide the technical evidence your counsel asks for.

  • Accessibility

    Our practice

Accessibility is part of the first design, not a check at the end. We design and test interfaces against WCAG 2.2 level AA, with automated tools and manual sessions using assistive technology.

  • Hosting location

    Per engagement

The hosting location and access limits are agreed with you and recorded in the contract before we build, including sovereign options where your requirements call for them. We select hosting and AI services to match, without tying you to a single vendor.

This section explains our way of working. It does not state compliance on your behalf: your obligations depend on your organisation and your use case.

Careers

Build systems organisations will depend on

Work with 2,400+ people on AI, software and cloud for public authorities and companies, in a company big enough for demanding work and small enough in its teams to keep learning.

Malaysia

Malaysian law at home, EU law where your business reaches Europe

Organisations in Malaysia answer first to Malaysian law: the PDPA as amended by Act A1727, with the data protection officer and data breach notification duties in force since 1 June 2025, and the Cyber Security Act 2024 (Act 854) for NCII entities since 26 August 2024.

A Malaysian group that sells to the EU, runs companies there or supplies EU banks may also meet the GDPR, NIS2 supplier clauses or DORA contract terms. We design for both sets of rules from the first workshop, and your counsel decides how they apply.

Tell us what you plan to build

A first meeting covers your challenge, the systems you run today and what a sensible next step could be. A colleague with the right background will reply.
