Careers
Engineering work that organisations depend on.
FromNine employs 2,400+ people who build AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for public bodies and companies in Europe. Our European roles are based in Belgium and the Netherlands, and the work has real users and visible consequences.
Roles at our offices in Antwerp, Ghent and Amsterdam, on programmes for clients in Europe.

Why FromNine
Large programmes, careful engineering
Systems people use from nine o’clock
What we build supports claims handlers, finance teams, engineers and citizens through their working day. You will see your work in use.
The reach of a large company
With 2,400+ colleagues and 600+ projects for European public administrations, there are demanding problems, long programmes and the chance to move between them.
Engineering done properly
Tested code, reviewed changes, recorded decisions and complete handovers. The unglamorous parts of the job get full attention here.
Practices across teams
You belong to a practice of people in your own discipline, whether AI, software, cloud, data or platforms, and you work in mixed project teams.

Try new methods at the Ghent hub
FromNine’s Ghent office is its hub for innovation and development. Engineers there put new AI and platform methods to work on realistic cases, produce the shared components and reference designs used by delivery teams, and make proven methods standard practice.
If you enjoy turning an experiment into something a client can operate, the Ghent hub suits you.
- Purposeful experimentsIdeas are tried on realistic cases and must meet the quality bar of client work.
- Built for every teamComponents and methods developed here are used by delivery teams throughout the company.
- Open learningResults, including failures, are shared with colleagues in each office.
Team life
Small teams with clear ownership
You join a multidisciplinary team with a clear objective and a client you come to know well. Teams plan in short cycles, demonstrate working software often and record the decisions that matter.
We place people where their strengths lie and keep teams stable, so you can follow a system from design into production. Colleagues review your work; it is not simply approved.
- Our delivery modelThe four stages every team follows.
Growth
Growth through the work and beyond
Learning on live projects
Work on production systems next to experienced colleagues and take on more responsibility when you are ready.
Changing domains
Public and private sector, AI and platforms, product and programme work: the range is wide enough that a new direction does not require a new employer.
Vendor certification
Salesforce, SAP and Odoo each run certification programmes; our platform practices build on them as part of how they grow.
Sharing knowledge
Internal sessions, written notes and the Ghent hub’s work keep knowledge flowing between teams and offices.

India
Engineering to European rules
The programmes our teams run are for organisations in EU Member States, so European digital law is part of the daily job. You will apply the EU AI Act on oversight and documentation, the GDPR wherever a system touches personal data, and the European Accessibility Act on interfaces that everyone must be able to use. Engineers who know India’s DPDP Act will recognise many of the questions.

Candidate questions
Where are vacancies published?
On our jobs page. If no vacancy matches your profile, the contact page still reaches us.
Is AI experience required?
No. AI runs through much of our work, but so does dependable engineering in software, data, cloud and platforms. Curiosity and sound engineering habits count for more than experience with any one tool.
Where are the positions based?
Our European offices are in Antwerp (administration), Ghent (hub for innovation and development) and Amsterdam. FromNine has no office in India. Where you work from, and how much time you spend with clients, is agreed for each role.
Which languages are used at work?
We hold the first conversation in English and agree the working language of each project at the start. Our European teams also work in Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. Each vacancy states its language requirements.
What happens to my application data?
Your data is used only to assess your application and is kept only as long as necessary, under the GDPR, which governs our recruitment. The candidate privacy notice linked from each vacancy gives the details.
Questions about a career with us?
Ask about our teams, the role families or the Ghent hub. Applications go through the jobs page, so please do not send a CV with the contact form.
