Trust and compliance
A supplier you can assess under Indian and EU rules
FromNine holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification. This page explains how we protect your systems and data as a supplier, how we support your duties under the DPDP Act and CERT-In’s Directions, what we contribute when your EU customers apply NIS2, DORA or the EU AI Act, and how to ask for our security documents.
For Indian enterprises, regulated entities and GCCs that must satisfy Indian regulators and their EU customers at the same time.
Our commitments
Five commitments for each engagement
Banks, insurers, manufacturers and public bodies hand a supplier sensitive data and systems behind real decisions. Here is what you can hold us to.
Information security management
CertifiedISO/IEC 27001 certification covers our information security management system. Every engagement runs under that system, including its controls, its management of subcontractors and its incident process.
We agree access to your systems and data before work begins, keep it to what the task needs and review it whenever the team changes.
ISO/IEC 27001 certified
Personal data under the DPDP Act and GDPR
Our practicePurposes, access limits and retention are agreed before we build. When we process personal data for you, we act as your Data Processor under a written contract with the security terms that rule 6 of the DPDP Rules expects and, for data in the EU, as your processor under Article 28 of the GDPR.
For the annual Data Protection Impact Assessment of a Significant Data Fiduciary, or a GDPR impact assessment for high-risk processing, we provide the technical input.
Maker-checker for AI
Our practiceEach AI use case is classified with you in discovery. Approval steps, logs and technical documentation are part of the first release rather than assembled when an audit is announced. Agents work with limited permissions and wait for an authorised person before any step with consequences.
Accessibility
Our practiceInterfaces are designed and tested to WCAG 2.2 AA and EN 301 549, and to IS 17802 where you need it, with automated tools and testing by people using assistive technology. You receive a conformance report listing any open issues.
Data location
Agreed per engagementWe settle hosting regions, who controls the encryption keys and where support staff may connect from together with you, and record the result in the architecture before build starts. Where a sectoral law is stricter than the DPDP Act, section 16(2) of the Act lets it prevail, and the design follows it.
This page sets out our practice as a supplier, not your compliance position. Which duties apply depends on your organisation and the use of the system, and the legal reading belongs to your legal advisers.
NIS2
NIS2: what EU customers ask of an Indian supplier
NIS2, Directive (EU) 2022/2555, reaches essential and important entities in the EU through national laws. Article 21(2) lists supply-chain security among the minimum measures, and under Article 21(3) entities must consider the security practices of each direct supplier. An Indian software or managed service provider therefore meets NIS2 mostly through its EU customers’ contracts and evidence requests. Certain digital providers without an EU establishment, such as cloud, data centre and managed security service providers offering services in the Union, must also designate a representative in a Member State (Article 26).
When we are the supplier, we make that evidence easy to give. Security clauses, incident contacts and vulnerability handling are agreed in each contract, and the controls for your engagement are documented for your supplier risk review. At home, CERT-In’s Directions of 28 April 2022 already require listed incidents to be reported within six hours, so an incident process built for India works to a tighter clock than the NIS2 early warning. Whether and how NIS2 reaches your organisation remains your own assessment.
Contract security clauses
Access, subcontracting, incident notice and audit cooperation are written into the contract, not assumed.
A tested incident channel
Each side names its contacts and response times, so you learn of an incident with us early enough for the NIS2 early warning within 24 hours (Article 23(4)) and, where Indian law applies, the six-hour CERT-In report.
Handling vulnerabilities
The release pipeline scans code, dependencies and infrastructure; each finding is either fixed or reported to you through the channel agreed in the contract.
Evidence when you ask
The ISO/IEC 27001 certificate, plus a written account of the controls in place for your engagement.

DORA
DORA: Indian IT providers to EU banks and insurers
Regulation (EU) 2022/2554, the Digital Operational Resilience Act, applies from 17 January 2025. EU banks, insurers, payment institutions, investment firms and other financial entities must manage ICT third-party risk, keep a register of information on every ICT services contract (Article 28) and include set contractual provisions (Article 30), wherever the provider is based. A provider outside the EU that is designated critical must set up an EU subsidiary within 12 months of the designation (Article 31(12)).
As an ICT provider we sign up to the Article 30 provisions: a full description of the services, where they are provided and where data is processed, help when an ICT incident occurs, access for and cooperation with your supervisors, and your rights to terminate. Where a service supports a critical or important function, exit strategies and our participation in your resilience tests are added to the agreement.
Indian regulated entities face a parallel regime at home: RBI’s directions on managing risks in outsourcing, including IT services, and SEBI’s Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience Framework (CSCRF) for its regulated entities. We supply the data your register needs and write exit plans from the start, so that changing provider stays a real option.

EU AI Act
The EU AI Act for Indian AI providers
The EU AI Act, Regulation (EU) 2024/1689, reaches beyond the Union: it covers providers placing AI systems on the EU market wherever they are established (Article 2(1)(a)), and providers and deployers in third countries whose AI output is used in the Union (Article 2(1)(c)). Its obligations arrive in steps. Bans on prohibited practices and the AI literacy duty have applied since February 2025, transparency duties under Article 50 since August 2026, and the high-risk rules for Annex III systems from 2 December 2027, following the 2026 amendment by Regulation (EU) 2026/1744.
A provider of a high-risk system established outside the EU must appoint an authorised representative in the Union before the system is made available there (Article 22(1)). The system itself needs technical documentation (Article 11), automatic event logs (Article 12) and a design that people can oversee effectively (Article 14), and deployers must give oversight to staff who are competent and empowered to intervene (Article 26). In India, the India AI Governance Guidelines released by MeitY in November 2025 set out principles without creating a statute; where your output reaches the Union, we build to the EU requirements.
Your role, provider or deployer, depends on how the system is placed on the market or put into service. Deciding it is a legal question for your advisers; we provide the technical facts they need.

In delivery
Security built into each delivery stage
Evidence of compliance is produced by the way we work, not drafted at the end.
Least-privilege access
Only the access the task requires, agreed before work begins and checked again each time the team changes.
Peer-reviewed, scanned changes
Every change is reviewed by a second engineer before release. Code, dependencies and infrastructure are scanned automatically, and each release has planned security tests.
An agreed incident process
Incident classification, notification contacts and evidence collection are agreed at the start and built into your incident process, with the six-hour CERT-In clock and, where they apply to you, NIS2 or DORA reporting.
Handover and exit, documented
Runbooks, design decisions and data models pass to you with the system; exit plans show from day one how data is returned and what a switch would cost.
Due diligence
Ask for our security documents
Vendor risk, information security and legal teams want proof before signing. You can ask us for the ISO/IEC 27001 certificate and its scope, for answers to your vendor security questionnaire and for the data processing terms proposed for your engagement.
Use the contact page and name the framework your vendor assessment follows, for example RBI’s outsourcing directions, SEBI’s CSCRF, the DPDP Rules, NIS2 or DORA. The right specialist will reply.

India
Indian regulators, EU customers
Indian rules come from Parliament and from sector regulators. The DPDP Act and its Rules phase in to May 2027, CERT-In’s Directions under the IT Act set six-hour incident reporting, RBI issues directions to banks and NBFCs on outsourcing and IT governance, and SEBI’s CSCRF covers its regulated entities. EU rules reach you through customers and subsidiaries: GDPR, DORA and the AI Act apply directly across the Union, while NIS2 works through national laws that differ per Member State. For programmes that span India and Europe, we agree one set of controls and route every incident to the right recipient, whether CERT-In, the Data Protection Board of India from May 2027 or an EU authority.

Questions from vendor risk and security teams
Does FromNine hold ISO/IEC 27001 certification?
Yes, our information security management system holds that certification. The certificate and its scope are shared on request during your vendor due diligence.
How do you help us meet NIS2 clauses from EU customers?
Security clauses, incident contacts and vulnerability handling are agreed in our contract with you, the controls for your engagement are documented, and you receive the evidence that your own EU customers or your supplier risk review will ask for. Whether NIS2 applies to your organisation directly is for you and your legal advisers to decide.
Will you sign the contract terms that DORA requires?
Yes. The Article 30 terms go into the contract; incidents reach you through the channel agreed there; exit plans are written down; we join your resilience tests; and the data your register of information requires comes from us.
Who answers for compliance with the EU AI Act?
It turns on your role, provider or deployer, and on the risk level of the use case. Together we classify each use case in discovery; oversight, logs and documentation are then built into the system, and your legal advisers receive the technical facts for their assessment.
Where is our data stored and processed?
Wherever we agree with you before build starts: your own cloud tenancy, a public cloud region you select, or your own data centre for sensitive workloads. Hosting and AI services follow that choice, which is recorded with its exit options.
How can we obtain your security documents?
Use the contact page, list the documents you need and the framework behind your vendor assessment, and the right specialist will reply.
Request the evidence
Name the framework your vendor assessment uses and the documents you need. We will confirm what we can share and in what form.
