The name

Why the name FromNine

A company name should state its purpose. Ours does so twice.

The name FromNine carries the two things that matter most to us: the working day our systems must support, and the complete landscape they must fit into.

09:00

From nine in the morning

At nine the business day begins in earnest. Claims handlers open their queues, the accounts team begins its daily postings, a citizen signs in to apply for a certificate, and engineers review the overnight alerts.

That is when a system stops being a project and becomes something people rely on. We build for that hour: not a demo late on a Friday, but nine on a Monday morning, with live users, live data and outcomes that matter.

3 × 3

Nine nodes, a single route

Our mark is a grid of nine nodes linked by one unbroken line. The nodes stand for what every organisation must bring together: people, data, models, applications, integrations, platforms, cloud, security and operations.

The line is the engineering that joins them, one deliberate turn after another. It finishes on a single highlighted node: one system, live in production. Trace the line and it forms a nine.

FromNine: the first hour of the business day, and nine separate parts brought together into one system that holds when it matters.

Who we are

AI first, with engineering discipline underneath

FromNine designs, builds and operates AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms. With 2,400+ people we can staff multidisciplinary teams across AI, software, cloud, data and platforms, and keep the same team on a programme for its full life.

AI first is not AI everywhere. Every engagement begins by asking where AI can change how the organisation works, and then we build it to the same standard as the systems it joins: tested, observable, governed and properly handed over.

That discipline came from public work. In 600+ projects for European public administrations, accessibility, security and accountability were requirements, not options. We apply the same standard to every private-sector programme.

Our principles

Four principles we work by

  1. Built for production

We build AI for daily use, not for a demonstration. Dependable software, data access, security, monitoring and an operating plan belong to the scope, not to the extras.

  2. Linked to your core systems

AI is worth only what it can reach. We integrate properly with the ERP, CRM, data platforms and business applications in place, instead of replacing systems that work.

  3. Responsibility designed in

Early in each engagement we fix the points where a person approves, the actions AI may take and how each decision is logged. Design takes the DPDP Act, the GDPR and the EU AI Act into account where they apply, and we are open about the limits of AI.

  4. Capacity and continuity

Enough people for a large programme, and a stable team that keeps its knowledge. Those who design your system aim to stay on it until handover.

Credentials

Certification and partnerships

What the name rests on: a certified information security management system and formal partnerships with the platforms many enterprises run on.

Information security

ISO/IEC 27001

We hold ISO/IEC 27001 certification for our information security management system. The certificate and its scope are available for your vendor due diligence.

Platform partnerships

As partners, our Salesforce, SAP and Odoo teams work inside each vendor’s partner programme. Each vendor defines its own status labels.

Salesforce, SAP and Odoo are trademarks of their respective owners.

Locations

Where our teams are based

FromNine has no office in India. The people who would work with you are based in Antwerp, Ghent and Amsterdam, close to the European institutions and markets whose rules Indian firms deal with.

In Ghent, new methods are proven before client use

FromNine’s Ghent office is our hub for innovation and development. New AI and engineering methods are tried on realistic cases there first, and the hub produces shared components, such as evaluation tooling and reference architectures, that every delivery team uses.

The work is practical by intent. An idea is adopted only when it passes the same tests, reviews and security checks as everything else we release.

  • TryPromising methods for AI, agents and platforms are tested on cases taken from real work.
  • ProveTest methods, reference designs and reusable components are built and documented here.
  • ShareWhat works is adopted by delivery teams in each office; what fails is recorded as well.

Trust and compliance

Security, data protection and oversight built in

Regulated enterprises and public bodies entrust us with sensitive data and with systems behind real decisions. These are the commitments that come with that trust.

  • Information security

    Certified

Certified to ISO/IEC 27001, our information security management covers each engagement. Least-privilege access, secure development and security testing are part of standard delivery from the start.

    ISO/IEC 27001 certified

  • Personal data, DPDP Act and GDPR

    Our practice

Purposes, access limits and retention are agreed before we build, under the DPDP Act for data of people in India and the GDPR for data in the EU. When we act as your Data Processor, or your processor under the GDPR, a written contract sets out what we may do with the data.

  • AI governance

    Our practice

Risk review, documentation and human approval are designed in, with the India AI Governance Guidelines in view and the EU AI Act wherever output reaches the Union. Agents run with limited permissions, approval steps and complete logs.

For each use case we help you see which duties could apply, and we provide the technical facts your legal advisers will ask for.

  • Accessibility

    Our practice

Accessibility is designed in from the first screen, not checked at the end. Interfaces are tested to WCAG 2.2 AA, and to IS 17802 where required, with automated tools and manual testing with assistive technology.

  • Where data is stored

    Agreed per engagement

Data location, access limits and hosting are agreed with you before we build and written into the contract. We then select hosting and AI services to match, avoiding lock-in to one vendor.

This section describes our own practice. It does not certify your compliance: which duties apply to you depends on your organisation and what the system is used for.

Careers

Careers in our European teams

Roles are based at our European offices, among 2,400+ colleagues working on AI, software and cloud: a company with the size for serious programmes and teams small enough to keep learning.

India

What European markets ask of Indian firms

An Indian enterprise that sells into the EU, or runs subsidiaries there, meets rules that apply across the Union: the GDPR for personal data of people in the EU (Article 3(2)), the EU AI Act for AI systems placed on the EU market or whose output is used there (Article 2), NIS2 through the security clauses of EU customers, and the European Accessibility Act for consumer services since 28 June 2025. At home, the DPDP Act and Rules and the CERT-In Directions cover similar ground. We design for both sets, and the national rules of each Member State then shape the detail.
