We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who navigate by keyboard, use a screen reader or screen magnification, or prefer reduced motion.
Our target
We design and build this website to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens external site) at level AA.
Many of our clients are public bodies, which apply the European standard EN 301 549 under the Web Accessibility Directive (opens external site). That standard currently refers to WCAG 2.1; WCAG 2.2 adds further success criteria, for example on focus visibility and target size, and we apply those as well.
Conformance status
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. We design and test against the standard, but the website has not yet been audited independently. We will update this statement after that audit, including any issues it finds.

Known limitations
- Some diagrams are detailed. Each has a written description under "Read the diagram as text"; if a description is unclear, please tell us.
- The three-dimensional illustration on the home page is decorative. It stops when you pause it, after about a minute, or when your system asks for reduced motion, and a static image replaces it when 3D graphics are unavailable.
- Official documents we link to, such as publications on EUR-Lex, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
- On small screens some diagrams are wider than the screen and scroll sideways inside their frame; each also has a written description under "Read the diagram as text".
- We have not yet tested the website with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS. If something is announced unclearly, please tell us.
What we do
Pages use semantic HTML with headings in order and landmarks, so screen readers can navigate them. Every function works with a keyboard, with a clearly visible focus indicator. Text and controls meet the AA contrast requirements in both the dark and the light theme.
Animations respect the reduced-motion setting of your system. Where something moves continuously, such as the illustration at the top of the home page and the row of job roles further down the home page, a pause control stops it. The control appears when you point at the animation or reach it with the keyboard, stays visible while the animation is paused, and your choice is remembered on every page. Other animations play once as content appears. Content remains readable without JavaScript. Forms have visible labels and explain errors in text. Layouts are tested from 320 pixels wide upwards and at 200 per cent zoom.
Before each release we combine automated accessibility checks with manual testing by keyboard. Testing with screen readers is planned and has not yet been completed.
Report a barrier
If something on this website does not work for you, please tell us which page it was, what you tried to do and which browser or assistive technology you use. Write to contact@fromnine.com or use the contact page. We will reply and, where we can, fix the problem or provide the information in another way.
