The name

Why we are called FromNine

A name should say what a company is for. Ours says it twice.

We chose FromNine because it holds the two things we care about most: the working day our systems have to serve, and the whole landscape they have to fit into.

09:00

From nine o’clock

Nine o’clock is when the working day starts in earnest. Case handlers open their queues, finance teams start their runs, citizens log in to file a request, engineers check what happened overnight.

That is the moment a system stops being a project and becomes something people depend on. It is the moment we build for: not the demo on a Friday afternoon, but Monday at nine, with real users, real data and real consequences.

3 × 3

Nine nodes, one route

Our mark is a field of nine nodes joined by one continuous route. The nodes stand for the parts every organisation has to bring together: data, models, applications, platforms, integrations, cloud, security, people and operations.

The route is the engineering that connects them, turn by deliberate turn. It ends in a single highlighted node: one working system, in production. Follow the line and it draws a nine.

From nine: from the first hour of the working day, and from nine separate parts to one system that holds up when it counts.

Who we are

AI-first, built on engineering discipline

FromNine designs, builds and runs AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for public institutions and businesses across Europe. With 2,400+ people we can staff multidisciplinary teams across AI, software, cloud, data and platforms, and keep them in place for the life of a programme.

AI-first does not mean AI everywhere. It means we start every engagement by asking where AI can make a real difference to how the organisation runs, then engineer it to the standard of the systems it joins: tested, observable, governed and handed over properly.

Our discipline was shaped in the public sector. Across 600+ European government projects for public bodies in the EU, accessibility, security and accountability were requirements rather than preferences. We bring the same standard to our private-sector clients.

How we operate

Four principles behind our work

  1. Engineered to run

We build AI for production, not for the demo. Reliable software, data access, security, monitoring and an operating plan are part of the work, not extras.

  2. Connected to your core

AI is only as useful as the systems it can reach. We work with the CRM, ERP, data platforms and applications you already run, and connect to them properly instead of replacing what works.

  3. Responsible by design

We decide early where people approve, where AI may act and how decisions are traced. We design with GDPR and the EU AI Act in mind, and we say plainly what AI cannot do.

  4. Scale with continuity

The capacity of a large firm, the continuity of a team that already knows how to deliver. We aim to keep the people who design your system on it through build and handover.

Group and credentials

Part of LAAP Group, certified and partnered

What stands behind the name: a parent group, a certified information security management system and formal partnerships with the platforms our clients run on.

Parent company

LAAP Group

FromNine is a LAAP Group company. Company and registration details are listed in our legal notice.

Information security

ISO/IEC 27001

Our information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001, the international standard for managing information security. Ask us for the certificate and its scope as part of your due diligence.

Platform partnerships

Partner status means our Salesforce, SAP and Odoo teams work within each vendor’s partner programme. Status labels are as defined by each vendor.

Salesforce, SAP and Odoo are trademarks of their respective owners.

Where we are

One way of working, from every office

Our teams work from Antwerp, Ghent, Amsterdam and Cyberjaya in Malaysia. In Europe we are close to the public institutions and companies we serve, and we deliver for clients across Europe.

Ghent is where new ideas are put to the test

Our Ghent office is FromNine’s innovation and development hub. It is where we explore new AI and engineering approaches on realistic problems before they reach client work, and where development teams build the components that delivery teams across the company rely on.

Innovation here is deliberately practical. An idea earns its place when it holds up under the same tests, reviews and security requirements as everything else we ship.

  • ExploreNew techniques in AI, agents and platform engineering are tried against realistic cases.
  • ProveEvaluation methods, reference architectures and reusable components are built, tested and documented.
  • ShareWhat works becomes shared practice for delivery teams in every office. What does not is written down too.

Trust and compliance

Security, privacy and oversight, designed in

Public institutions and regulated companies trust us with sensitive data and with systems that support real decisions. These are the commitments we work to.

  • Information security

    Certified

Our information security management system is certified to ISO/IEC 27001. Least-privilege access, secure development practices and security testing are part of our standard delivery, not a final check.

  • Personal data and GDPR

    How we work

Personal data is handled under GDPR, with purposes, access boundaries and retention agreed before we build. Where we process personal data on your behalf, we do so under a data processing agreement.

  • AI governance

    How we work

We design with the EU AI Act in mind, from risk classification to documentation and human oversight. Agents work with bounded permissions, approval gates and full logs.

We help you understand which obligations may apply to your use case and supply the technical evidence your counsel needs.

  • Accessibility

    How we work

Accessibility is a requirement from the first design, not a test at the end. We design and test interfaces against WCAG 2.2 level AA, with automated checks and manual review using assistive technology.

  • EU data residency

    Per engagement

We design for EU data residency and agree hosting locations and access boundaries with you before we build, including sovereign options where your requirements call for them. Hosting and AI services are chosen accordingly, without dependence on a single vendor.

This section describes how we work. It is not a statement of compliance on your behalf: obligations depend on your organisation and your use case.

Careers

Build what organisations will run on

Join 2,400+ colleagues working on AI, software and cloud for public institutions and businesses across Europe: a company large enough for serious work and focused enough to keep learning.

International

One partner across European markets

Each EU Member State brings its own language, procurement rules and supervisory authorities. We design for that from the start: GDPR and the EU AI Act as the shared baseline, NIS2 for the security of essential and important entities, and the European Accessibility Act for digital products and services. National rules then shape the details, from e-invoicing to public-sector platforms.

Tell us what you are building

The first conversation is about your challenge, the systems you already run and what a useful next step would look like. The right people will get back to you.
