Below you will find every cookie and every item of browser storage that this website uses. There are only three, because the website stores nothing except the choices you make yourself.
In short
This website sets no analytics, advertising or social media cookies, and no third party places cookies through it. For that reason there is no consent banner.
Should we ever add something that needs your consent, we will ask before anything is stored on your device, make refusing as easy as accepting, use no pre-ticked boxes and no bundled consent, as the Data Protection Commission’s guidance expects, and update this page.
What we store
Only one of the three items is a cookie. The other two are values in your browser’s local storage that stay on your device: the website reads them in your browser to apply the theme and the animation setting you picked.
Your browser sends the language cookie to our server when you open the home address of the website without a language in it, so that we can open the version you chose last time. Until you make a choice, nothing is stored.
Cookies and browser storage used on this website Name Set by Purpose Category Duration FN_LOCALE FromNine (first party) Keeps the language and region you picked in the switcher, so that the home address opens that version on your next visit. Set only when you use the switcher. Preferences 180 days fn-theme FromNine, local storage Keeps your choice of the light or the dark theme. Stored only once you use the theme switch. Preferences Until you remove it fn-motion FromNine, local storage Keeps the setting that pauses animations. Stored only for as long as animations are paused. Preferences Until you remove it Why we do not ask for consent
In Ireland, storing information on your device or reading it from there is governed by Regulation 5 of the ePrivacy Regulations (S.I. No. 336 of 2011). Consent is required, with two exemptions only: storage for the sole purpose of transmitting a communication, and storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for.
Each of our three items is stored only after you make a choice in the interface (language, theme or animation), and serves only to remember that choice. We therefore rely on the second exemption for them. We do not use them for any other purpose, and the website uses no SDKs, pixels or fingerprinting, which the Data Protection Commission’s guidance treats in the same way as cookies.
Removing your preferences
The button below removes all three items at once. Your browser settings do the same, and also let you block cookies and site data for this website. The website keeps working if you block them; it just no longer remembers your choices.
Changes to this policy
Whenever we add, change or remove a cookie or storage item, we update this page. The version and dates at the top of the page tell you which version you are reading.
