This website should work for everyone, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, rely on a screen reader or screen magnification, or have asked their system for reduced motion.

  1. Our target

The website is designed and built to meet level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 (opens external site).

Many of the organisations we work for are in the public sector. Public-sector bodies apply the European standard EN 301 549 under the Web Accessibility Directive (opens external site), which Malta has transposed as S.L. 418.03. That standard still refers to WCAG 2.1; WCAG 2.2 adds success criteria, for instance on the visibility of focus and the size of targets, and we apply those too.

  2. Conformance status

The website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 level AA. We design and test it against the standard, but no independent audit has been carried out yet. Once that audit has taken place, we will update this statement, including any issues it identifies.

    Known limitations

    • Some diagrams contain a lot of detail. Each one has a written description under “Read the diagram as text”; please tell us if a description is not clear.
    • The three-dimensional illustration on the home page is decorative. It stops when you pause it, after about one minute, or when your system requests reduced motion, and it is replaced by a static image where 3D graphics are not available.
    • Official documents we link to, such as publications on EUR-Lex, are outside our control and may not meet the same standard.
    • On small screens some diagrams are wider than the display and scroll sideways within their frame; each one also has a written description under “Read the diagram as text”.
    • The website has not yet been tested with screen readers such as VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS. If something is read out unclearly, please let us know.
  3. What we do

Pages are built with semantic HTML, with headings in a logical order and landmarks that screen readers can use to move around. Every function can be operated with a keyboard, and the focus indicator is clearly visible. Text and controls meet the AA contrast requirements in the light theme as well as in the dark one.

Animations follow your system’s reduced-motion setting. Where something moves continuously, such as the illustration at the top of the home page and the row of job roles lower down that page, a pause control stops it. The control appears when you point at the animation or reach it by keyboard, remains visible while the animation is paused, and your choice is kept on every page. Other animations run once as content comes into view. Content stays readable without JavaScript. Forms carry visible labels and describe errors in text. Layouts are tested from a width of 320 pixels upwards and at 200 per cent zoom.

Before every release we run automated accessibility checks and test manually by keyboard. Testing with screen readers is planned but has not been completed yet.

  4. Report a barrier

If part of this website does not work for you, please let us know the page, what you were trying to do and the browser or assistive technology you were using. Write to contact@fromnine.com or use the contact page. We will reply and, where possible, solve the problem or give you the information in another form.

  5. About this statement

This statement was drawn up on 2 October 2026 on the basis of a self-assessment by the team that builds the website. We review it at least once a year and whenever the website changes significantly.

We publish this statement regardless of whether the law requires one for this website. In Malta, S.L. 418.03 sets accessibility duties for the websites of public-sector bodies, and the Accessibility Measures (European Accessibility Act) Regulations (S.L. 627.03) apply to the products and services that fall within their scope.
