Below you will find every cookie and every browser storage item used by this website. There are only three, because the website stores nothing except what it needs to remember choices you have made yourself.
In short
This website sets no analytics, advertising or social media cookies, and no third party places cookies through it. For that reason no consent banner appears.
Should we ever introduce a technology that requires your consent, we will ask for it before anything is stored, make refusing as simple as accepting, and update this page.
What we store
Two of the three items are not cookies: they are values held in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device, where the website reads them to display the theme and animation setting you selected.
The language cookie is sent to our server when you open the home address of the website without a language in it, so that you are taken directly to the version you chose last time. Nothing is stored before you make a choice.
Cookies and browser storage used on this website Name Set by Purpose Category Duration FN_LOCALE FromNine (first party) Keeps the language and region you selected with the switcher, so that the home address opens that version on your next visit. Set only when you use the switcher. Preferences 180 days fn-theme FromNine, local storage Keeps your choice between the light and the dark theme. Stored only once you have used the theme switch. Preferences Until you remove it fn-motion FromNine, local storage Records that you have paused animations. Stored only for as long as animations stay paused. Preferences Until you remove it Why we do not ask for consent
In Malta, storing information on your device is governed by Regulation 5 of the Processing of Personal Data (Electronic Communications Sector) Regulations (S.L. 586.01). It requires consent, given after clear and comprehensive information, except for storage used only to transmit a communication or storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you have explicitly asked for.
The Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDPC) explains in its Guidance Note on Cookies Consent Requirements that boxes may not be pre-ticked, that access to a website may not depend on accepting cookies, and that cookies which are not exempt may only be set after you have consented through a banner.
Each of our three items is stored only once you have made a choice, and only to remember that choice; we use none of them for anything else. Storage that does no more than adapt the interface at a user’s own request is generally regarded as exempt from the consent requirement, which is why this website shows no banner.
Removing your preferences
You can clear all three items at any moment with the button below, or in your browser settings, where you can also block cookies and site data for this website. Blocking them does not stop the website from working; it only means that your choices are forgotten.
Changes to this policy
This page is updated each time we add, change or remove a cookie or a storage item. The version and the dates at the top of the page show which version you are reading.
