Careers

Build the systems organisations depend on.

Work with 2,400+ people on AI systems, enterprise software and cloud platforms for Government and companies in EU Member States. Your work reaches actual users and has actual effects, and your colleagues care about getting it right.

Teams in Antwerp, Ghent and Amsterdam building for clients in EU Member States, Malta among them.

Why FromNine

Large scale and careful craft under one roof

  1. Work that counts at nine in the morning

Officers in public entities, accounts staff, engineers and residents all lean on what we deliver during their day. The systems you help build are ones you will watch being used.

  2. The reach of a large firm

Behind you stand 2,400+ colleagues and 600+ public-sector projects across the EU: hard problems, programmes lasting years and plenty of scope to switch between them.

  3. Craft worth being proud of

Code with tests, changes that a colleague has reviewed, decisions in writing and handovers done properly. We value the unglamorous side of engineering.

  4. Practices instead of silos

Each of us belongs to a practice of specialists in the same craft (AI, software, cloud, data or platforms), while day-to-day work happens in teams that blend those crafts.

If you enjoy turning an experiment into something a client can put into operation, Ghent suits that kind of work.

  • Experiments with an aimIdeas face realistic cases and must clear the bar set for client work.
  • Built for many teamsThe components and methods developed here are used by delivery teams throughout the company.
  • Learning shared openlyResults, failures included, are passed on to colleagues in all our offices.
About FromNine

How we work

Small teams, defined ownership, genuine users

You join a team of mixed disciplines with one clear aim and a client you come to know well. The team plans in short cycles, shows running software often and records every decision that matters.

Staffing follows strengths, and teams stay together, which lets you take a system all the way from design to go-live. Your colleagues look closely at your work rather than waving it through.

Open roles

Find the role for you

For every vacancy we describe the team, where it is based and what the work involves, so the fit is something you can assess in advance.

Our jobs page is still in preparation. Until it goes live, you can reach the team through the contact page.

Malta

Work under EU rules, Maltese practice included

Our teams build for public bodies and companies in several EU Member States, so the rules of the European digital market shape everyday engineering. You will apply the AI Act to human oversight and documentation, the GDPR to every system that handles personal data, and the European Accessibility Act to interfaces that everyone has to be able to use.

In Malta the same rules arrive through national law and authorities, such as the Accessibility Measures (European Accessibility Act) Regulations (S.L. 627.03) and the Malta Digital Innovation Authority (MDIA) for the AI Act. Learning to work with them is demanding, and it is experience you can take anywhere in the EU.

Questions candidates ask

Where are open roles published?

They appear on our jobs page. Nothing there for you? Write to us anyway via the contact page.

Is AI experience a requirement?

No. Most of our work includes AI, but it equally depends on sound software, cloud, data and platform engineering. Curiosity and good engineering habits count for more than familiarity with any one tool.

Where would I be based?

You would work from Antwerp (administration), Ghent (hub for innovation and development) or Amsterdam. We have no office in Malta. The place you work from, and how much time you spend at the client, is agreed for each role.

In which languages do you work?

Our teams use the client’s language, including English, Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. For clients in Malta we work in English. Each vacancy states the languages the role requires.

What happens to the data in my application?

Your data serves only to assess your application and is deleted once no longer needed, as the GDPR requires. Each vacancy links to the candidate privacy notice with the full details.

Questions about working with us?
